How this affects our verdicts
It does not. Commission rates play no part in which products we recommend, how we rank them, or what we say about them. If a product is bad, we say so, affiliate program or not. Where we have not used a product ourselves, we say that too, and we base our assessment on published specifications, validation studies and documented owner reports.
